Travel to the South of France brings a valuable immersion experience to courses in the arts, communications, and wellness. Students in Paul Greene’s arts course will gain a rich introduction to French painting and architecture. In addition, the landscape of Provence is a subject of many important artworks. Students in Andrea Randolph’s wellness theory course will visit markets in Provence and Nice, and compare food and wellness customs in the South of France with those in the United States. Students in Susan Fredricks’ communications course will have the opportunity to visit a newspaper office and ask questions. City, region, and museum tours provide students with a historical and cultural understanding of the South of France, and this frames their focused work in their class projects.
