COMM 101N is an integrated web offered course for the GA elective. The Spring Break 2024 embedded course will travel to Merida, Mexico to explore culture, art, and humanities.
Students will participate in a service learning activity in the Mayan community at Yaxuhah (2 hours far from Merida) during an overnight excursion. While in Yaxunah, the group will visit with practitioners of naturopathic medicine such as traditional bone setters, medicine herbalists, midwives, etc. Students will have the opportunity to compare/contrast their clinical visits in Mérida to the naturopathic approach of this community.
