This one-credit embedded course in Georgia provides a one-week immersion in Georgian culture combined with lectures on Georgian history and contemporary political situation, including the long history of Georgian-Russian complicated relations. Georgia is famous for its ancient culture, beautiful nature, exquisite cuisine, and unparalleled hospitality. The program includes a tour of the Georgian capital Tbilisi and its surroundings, as well as visits to several museums and monasteries, and interaction with local students. It is organized and supported by the School of Russian and Asian Studies (SRAS), a leader in innovative programming in the post-Soviet space for over 20 years. The students will receive one credit at the level of the residential course in which they are enrolled.
Students must be enrolled in one of the following courses in Spring 2024 in order to participate: RUS, 002, RUS 100, RUS 142Y, RUS 200, RUS 403, RUS 420, RUS 496, RUS 497, UKR 100, UKR 002. The 1-credit travel component will take place over Spring Break. Please refer to the Dates section for specific travel dates.

During the embedded travel component, housing will consist of hotel/hostel accommodations.
The process for enrolling in an embedded course varies according to the instructor and/or department. The program leader has indicated that in order to enroll in the course and travel component, students must fill out an application using a google document.
