This rigorous seven-week summer program (6 weeks of classes) at CIEE and Yonsei University introduces students with little or no background in Korean studies to this country through language and area studies, and a special orientation that covers various facets of Korean society.
Yonsei University is the most prestigious private institution of higher education in Korea. Founded in 1885, it has 19 graduate schools, 22 colleges, and a student population of 38,600, including more than 2,600 students from 35 countries. The large, attractive campus is less than 20 minutes from downtown Seoul.
Summer: mid June - mid August
Refer to the CIEE Seoul website for the specific dates, if available.
A city celebrated by UNESCO for outstanding design yet firmly rooted in ancient traditions, Seoul makes an intriguing summer destination to explore culture, business practices, and Korean language. Challenge yourself in Seoul, and see why South Korea is emerging as a major industrial nation.
Packed with people, it’s no wonder Seoul is the capital and largest city in South Korea. A vibrant business and financial hub, Seoul also brims with culture, with more than 100 museums, numerous religious monuments, parks, markets, festivals, sports teams, and the Gyeongbok and Changdeok palaces. The mighty Han River runs through the city, and rugged mountains loom in the distance.
