Tuition and Program Fee
Program costs are estimates and subject to change up to the program commitment deadline.
As institutions around the world determine program costs at different times, it is difficult for Education Abroad to provide actual cost information until shortly before the beginning of a program. You are encouraged to consult this document on a regular basis as it is frequently updated with the most current cost and billing information available.
Students are assessed the standard University Park Penn State Tuition and Technology Fee, and an Education Abroad Administrative Fee.
Billable costs, including the Education Abroad Program Fee include:
- Arrival orientation and welcome reception
- Housing and utilities
- Academic program
- Access to institute facilities and educational resources
- On-site student service assistance
- Site visits and field trips
- Emergency assistance services
- Cultural activities
- Farewell reception
- Supplemental administrative and academic costs
Housing Note
Housing is included in the billable costs of the program. Students will be responsible for paying a refundable housing deposit of $50 USD to Pforzheim upon arrival.
Student Visa Cost
The actual cost of the visa will vary depending on the type of visa required and the student's country of citizenship. The Consulate General of the host country reserves the right to change their visa fees without prior notice. For exact pricing, students should contact directly the nearest Consulate for the host country.
Program Withdraw/Refund Policy
Please note: Due to the early planning by our partners, if you are accepted and commit to participate on Pforzheim Engineers Made in Germany and later decide to withdrawal from the program, you will be financially liable for paying the EA Admin Fee and the entirety of the billed cost, with the exception of the technology fee for summer, to Penn State. As we use your tuition in combination with the Education Abroad Program Fee to pay for billed costs, you will be giving us permission to post an additional program fee (approximately 7,250 Euro for summer 2024) for the balance of the program cost to your bursar account. Only commit to this program if you truly understand the financial liability you are accepting.
Regardless of the reason and effective date of withdrawal, it is the responsibility of students to immediately notify Education Abroad in writing and to understand the implications of their withdrawal actions.

The Education Abroad Administrative will be assessed to students' bursar bill regardless of the reason and effective date of withdrawal.

In certain cases, partial program expenses may be refundable but only to extent that Education Abroad can recover expenses incurred on behalf of the student. Any adjustment of tuition charges will be made according to the Tuition Adjustment Schedule as determined by the Office of the Bursar.
